Pregnancy is a happy time indeed. But, as many of you have learned, it’s not all stroking your belly and glowing skin. Some of the changes your body goes through can be downright embarrassing.

Ensure that you take a shower at least twice a day. Switch to antibacterial soap, which helps kill the bacteria that causes bad odor in your body. Ensure that you take a head bath regularly. Shampoo your head thrice a week. Sprinkle some perfume on the comb and run it through your hair to keep your hair smelling good for a longer time. Use a clean comb and brush so that the sweat and dirt in your hair do not get accumulated in your brush.
Keep your underarms, bikini line and pubic hair trimmed. Hair in the private parts can easily trap bacteria. These bacteria get accumulated on the skin and give rise to bad odor.
Use a deodorant in your underarms, and sprinkle talcum powder in your underarms and private parts. Aluminum-based antiperspirants are more effective if you tend to sweat more than normal. Ensure that you carry your powder and deodorant whenever you go out. This will remain handy, and you can use them whenever needed to avoid underarm odor during pregnancy.
Ensure that you wear fabrics that are breathable, preferably linen and cotton. Avoid wearing same clothes for two consecutive days. Put your clothes for wash after ever wear.
One of the smart way to fight odor in the laundry is to add 1/4th up white vinegar when you rinse your clothes for the final wash. If your socks and underwear smell really bad, then you can soak them in a dilute solution of white vinegar for 15 minutes before you wash them.
Ensure that you drink a lot of fluids and water to keep your system clean. Avoid eating onions, garlic and meat. Choose to eat more of fruits and vegetables which will not only reduce body odor but will also be healthy for the fetus.

Even after maintaining an impeccable level of personal hygiene, you do experience severe body odor during pregnancy, consult your doctor. He will suggest medicated soap and may reduce or change a few medicines that might be one of the reasons behind bad body odor.
